Lam Soon Plantations is committed to embedding sustainability across all operations, including our estates, mills, suppliers, contracted parties, and all stakeholders affected by our business operations and conduct. We aim to contribute meaningfully to global sustainability agendas and uphold the highest standards of responsible business conduct.
We comply with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as the requirements of RSPO, MSPO, and other relevant certification schemes, to ensure sustainable and transparent practices throughout our value chain.
In support of a sustainable future, we align our actions with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and conduct our operations in accordance with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. We uphold a strict commitment to No Deforestation, No Development on Peat, and No Exploitation (NDPE).
Lam Soon Plantations is committed to eliminating all forms of forced labour and child labour, upholding the core conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO). We implement preventive and responsive measures to ensure a workplace free from intimidation and harassment (including threats), sexual harassment, abuse and violence across all operating units.
We uphold the principles of good governance and conduct our business ethically, guided by Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations. In alignment with TCFD and IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, we seek to strengthen climate-related and sustainabilityrelated governance, strategy, risk management, and performance metrics. We continuously improve our practices by monitoring performance, assessing risks and opportunities, and setting measurable targets consistent with global standards and the SDGs.

Environmental Policy

Lam Soon Plantations is committed to protecting the environment, reducing climate-related risks, and managing natural resources responsibly in line with national legislation and international sustainability standards.

  1. Compliance
    We comply with the Environmental Quality Act 1974 and all other applicable environmental laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  2. Climate Action & Emissions Reduction
    We measure our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions footprint and implement operational strategies to reduce emissions intensity across all units, in line with global climate disclosure frameworks (TCFD, IFRS S2).
  3. Zero Burning
    We strictly practice a No Open Burning policy throughout our operations, with exceptions only as permitted under EQA 1974 and the ASEAN Policy on Zero Burning.
  4. Protection of HCS/HCV Areas
    We are committed to identifying, preserving, and protecting High Carbon Stock (HCS) and High Conservation Value (HCV) areas. We prohibit hunting, trading, or killing of species listed under the IUCN Red List or protected by local law.
  5. Good Practices
    We conduct all agricultural and mill operations according to Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  6. Resource Efficiency
    We strive to maximize productivity while minimizing negative environmental impacts throughout our value chain.
  7. Environmental Impact Assessment
    We conduct assessments on both positive and negative environmental impacts and develop robust mitigation and enhancement plans.
  8. No Planting on Peat
    We prohibit planting on peat soils, regardless of depth, in line with NDPE commitments.
  9. Responsible Land Use
    We prohibit development on land with gradients of 25° or greater, to prevent erosion and slope instability.
  10. Soil & Water Conservation
    We implement soil and water conservation practices—including terracing, trenching, and cover crops—especially during replanting.
  11. Organic Recycling
    We conduct inter-row frond stacking and apply Empty Fruit Bunches (EFB) to promote nutrient recycling and conserve soil moisture.
  12. Waste Reduction
    We practice Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle principles to optimize waste management and reduce landfill use.


Social Policy

Lam Soon Plantations upholds human rights and fosters safe, fair, and respectful workplaces in line with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, ILO Core Conventions, and GRI Social Standards.

  1. Human Rights Commitment
    We respect and protect human rights based on the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the ILO Labour Standards.
  2. No Forced or Trafficked Labour
    We are committed to the prevention and remediation of Forced Labour or Trafficked Labour throughout our operations via No Forced Labour Policy below:
    1. Voluntary employment with no abuse of vulnerable individuals; employment termination follows contractual terms.
    2. No deception or contract substitution in recruitment.
    3. No restriction of workers' movement beyond legal and procedural requirements.
    4. No isolation of workers.
    5. Zero tolerance for violence or harassment.
    6. No intimidation or threats.
    7. Workers always retain their own identity documents.
    8. No withholding of wages.
    9. No debt bondage; zero recruitment fee policy.
    10. Provision of safe, conducive living conditions aligned with the Minimum Standards of Housing Act 2019.
    11. No excessive overtime and working hours comply with national laws.
  3. No Child Labour
    We prohibit child labour in all operations and implement remediation measures when necessary. Children under 16 (local) or 18 (foreign) are not employed. We support access to education and welfare for all children in our operating areas.
  4. Equal Opportunity
    Promotion and employment decisions are made based on merit, without discrimination.
  5. Prevention of Sexual Harassment
    We prevent and address sexual harassment in accordance with the national Code of Practice.
  6. Women's Empowerment
    We promote the empowerment of women through the establishment of Gender Committees at operating sites.
  7. Reproductive Rights
    We respect the rights of women workers including their reproductive rights, maternal health and women's safety.
  8. Non-Discrimination
    We prohibit discrimination based on ethnicity, caste, nationality, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, union membership, political affiliation, age, or any other characteristic. This is applicable but not limited to recruitment, hiring, work scope, pay, benefits and access to training.
  9. Freedom of Association
    We respect workers' rights to form and join associations, participate in collective bargaining, and engage in Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) where available.
  10. Responsible Recruitment
    We conduct responsible recruitment based on equal opportunity and adherence to laws and regulations.
  11. Equal Treatment
    All workers including contract, migrant, casual and short-term receive fair and equal treatment regarding wages, benefits, and accommodations.
  12. Occupational Safety & Health (OSH)
    We commit to providing a safe and healthy working environment through:
    1. Compliance with OSHA 1994 and related guidelines.
    2. Conduct Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) based on Guidelines for Hazard Identification, Risk Analysis and Risk Control 2008.
    3. Establishing, implementing, and monitoring OSH plans.
    4. Provide employees with training and to create awareness that they are responsible for their occupational safety and health.
    5. We are committed to Prevent work-related illnesses, diseases, and injuries. Mechanisms to be established for workers to report and raise health and safety issues, including work related accidents, illnesses, diseases, injuries and emergencies.
    6. Provide necessary personal protective equipment's as per CHRA and HIRARC.
    7. Ensure that suppliers and contractors in our premises always abide by the safety and health procedures outlined by the company.
  13. Training & Awareness
    We provide training to workers, contractors, and stakeholders on sustainability policies and implementation.
  14. Grievance Mechanism
    We maintain a fair, transparent grievance and complaints process:
    1. All grievances are handled fairly in line with procedures.
    2. Responses are provided in a timely manner.
    3. Outcomes are communicated to relevant individuals,
  15. Protection of Whistleblowers
    Anonymity of complaints and whistle blowers will be protected ensuring no repercussions.
  16. Protection of Human Rights Defenders
    We protect Human Rights Defenders (HRDs) and prohibit retaliatory actions.


Governance Policy

Lam Soon Plantations is committed to strong governance, ethical conduct, and transparent sustainability reporting in alignment with TCFD, IFRS Sl/S2, GRI 2: General Disclosures, and certification requirements (RSPO, MSPO).

  1. Transparency and Availability of Information
    We maintain transparency in all RSPO and MSPO-related management documents and comply with certification guidelines.
  2. Ethical Business Conduct
    We are committed to Ethical Business Conduct and respect fair conduct of business and prohibit all forms of corruption, bribery and fraudulent use of funds and resources with all our associates, suppliers and contracted third parties.
  3. ConfidentialityWe protect the confidentiality of company and stakeholder information and prevent unauthorized disclosure.
  4. Efficient and Compliant Operations
    We operate efficiently and consistently to deliver high-quality products in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  5. Continuous Improvement
    We establish and monitor management action plans to drive continuous improvement and good practices.
  6. Stakeholder Engagement
    We ensure effective communication with customers and stakeholders through established communication channels.

Lam Soon Plantations komited untuk mengintegrasikan amalan kemampanan dalam semua operasi kami, termasuk ladang, kilang, pembekal, pihak kontrak, serta semua pihak berkepentingan yang terkesan oleh operasi dan amalan perniagaan kami. Kami berhasrat untuk menyumbang secara bermakna kepada agenda kemampanan global dan menegakkan piawaian tertinggi dalam amalan perniagaan yang bertanggungjawab.
Kami mematuhi semua undang-undang dan peraturan yang berkuat kuasa, serta keperluan RSPO, MSPO, dan skim pensijilan berkaitan, bagi memastikan amalan yang mampan dan telus sepanjang rantaian nilai kami.
Sebagai menyokong masa depan yang mampan, kami menyelaraskan tindakan kami dengan Matlamat Pembangunan Mampan Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu (SDGs) dan menjalankan operasi selaras dengan Prinsip Panduan PBB mengenai Perniagaan dan Hak Asasi Manusia. Lam Soon Plantations komited untuk menghapuskan semua bentuk buruh paksa dan buruh kanak-kanak, selaras dengan konvensyen teras Pertubuhan Buruh Antarabangsa (ILO). Kami melaksanakan langkah pencegahan dan responsif bagi memastikan tempat kerja bebas daripada intimidasi dan gangguan (termasuk ancaman), gangguan seksual, penderaan dan keganasan di semua unit operasi.
Kami menjunjung prinsip tadbir urus yang baik dan menjalankan perniagaan secara beretika berpandukan pertimbangan Alam Sekitar, Sosial dan Tadbir Urus (ESG). Selaras dengan TCFD dan Piawaian Pendedahan Kemampanan IFRS, kami berusaha memperkukuh tadbir urus, strategi, pengurusan risiko serta metrik prestasi berkaitan kemampanan dan perubahan iklim. Kami sentiasa menambah baik amalan melalui pemantauan prestasi, penilaian risiko dan peluang, serta penetapan sasaran yang boleh diukur selaras dengan piawaian global dan SDGs.

Dasar Alam Sekitar

Lam Soon Plantations komited untuk melindungi alam sekitar, mengurangkan risiko berkaitan perubahan iklim, serta mengurus sumber semula jadi secara bertanggungjawab selaras dengan perundangan negara dan piawaian kemampanan antarabangsa.

  1. Pematuhan
    Kami mematuhi Akta Kualiti Alam Sekeliling 1974 serta semua undang-undang, peraturan dan garis panduan alam sekitar yang berkaitan.
  2. Tindakan Iklim & Pengurangan Pelepasan
    Kami mengukur jejak pelepasan gas rumah kaca (GHG) dan melaksanakan strategi operasi bagi mengurangkan intensiti pelepasan di semua unit, selaras dengan rangka kerja pendedahan iklim global (TCFD, IFRS S2).
  3. Tanpa Pembakaran Terbuka
    Kami mengamalkan polisi Tanpa Pembakaran Terbuka secara ketat dalam semua operasi, kecuali seperti yang dibenarkan di bawah Akta Kualiti Alam Sekeliling 1974 dan Polisi ASEAN mengenai Pembakaran Sifar.
  4. Perlindungan Kawasan HCS/HCV
    Kami komited untuk mengenal pasti, memelihara dan melindungi kawasan Stok Karbon Tinggi (HCS) dan Nilai Pemuliharaan Tinggi (HCV). Kami melarang aktiviti memburu, perdagangan atau pembunuhan spesies yang disenaraikan di bawah Senarai Merah IUCN atau dilindungi oleh undang-undang tempatan.
  5. Amalan Baik
    Kami menjalankan semua operasi ladang dan kilang berdasarkan Amalan Pertanian Baik (GAP) dan Amalan Pembuatan Baik (GMP).
  6. Kecekapan Sumber
    Kami berusaha memaksimumkan produktiviti sambil meminimumkan impak negatif terhadap alam sekitar sepanjang rantaian nilai kami.
  7. Penilaian Impak Alam Sekitar
    Kami menjalankan penilaian terhadap impak alam sekitar, sama ada positif atau negatif, serta membangunkan pelan mitigasi dan penambahbaikan yang kukuh.
  8. Tiada Penanaman di Tanah Gambut
    Kami melarang penanaman di tanah gambut tanpa mengira kedalaman, selaras dengan komitmen NDPE.
  9. Penggunaan Tanah Bertanggungjawab
    Kami melarang pembangunan di kawasan dengan kecerunan 25° atau lebih bagi mengelakkan hakisan dan ketidakstabilan cerun.
  10. Pemuliharaan Tanah & Air
    Kami melaksanakan amalan pemuliharaan tanah dan air termasuk pembentukan teres, parit, dan tanaman penutup bumi, terutamanya semasa penanaman semula.
  11. Kitar Semula Organik
    Kami melaksanakan susunan pelepah antara barisan dan penggunaan Tandan Kosong (EFB) bagi menggalakkan kitar semula nutrien dan mengekalkan kelembapan tanah.
  12. Pengurangan Sisa
    Kami mengamalkan prinsip Kurangkan, Guna Semula dan Kitar Semula (3R) untuk mengoptimumkan pengurusan sisa dan mengurangkan penggunaan tapak pelupusan.


Dasar Sosial

Lam Soon Plantations menjunjung hak asasi manusia dan mewujudkan persekitaran kerja yang selamat, adil dan saling menghormati selaras dengan Prinsip Panduan PBB mengenai Perniagaan dan Hak Asasi Manusia, Konvensyen Teras ILO dan Piawaian Sosial GRI.

  1. Komitmen Hak Asasi Manusia
    Kami menghormati dan melindungi hak asasi manusia berdasarkan Deklarasi Universal Hak Asasi Manusia PBB dan Piawaian Buruh ILO.
  2. Tiada Buruh Paksa atau Pemerdagangan Manusia
    Kami komited untuk mencegah dan membetulkan buruh paksa atau buruh pemerdagangan melalui Polisi Tiada Buruh Paksa seperti berikut:
    1. Pekerjaan secara sukarela tanpa eksploitasi individu rentan; penamatan pekerjaan mengikut kontrak.
    2. Tiada penipuan atau penggantian kontrak dalam pengambilan pekerja.
    3. Tiada sekatan pergerakan pekerja selain keperluan undang-undang.
    4. Tiada pengasingan pekerja.
    5. Toleransi sifar terhadap keganasan atau gangguan.
    6. Tiada intimidasi atau ancaman.
    7. Pekerja sentiasa memegang dokumen identiti sendiri.
    8. Tiada penahanan gaji.
    9. Tiada ikatan hutang; polisi sifar yuran pengambilan.
    10. Penyediaan tempat tinggal yang selamat dan kondusif selaras dengan Akta Standard Minimum Perumahan 2019.
    11. Tiada kerja lebih masa berlebihan; waktu kerja mematuhi undang-undang negara.
  3. Tiada Buruh Kanak-kanak
    Kami melarang buruh kanak-kanak dan melaksanakan langkah pembetulan jika perlu. Kanak-kanak di bawah umur 16 tahun (tempatan) atau 18 tahun (asing) tidak diambil bekerja.
  4. Peluang Sama Rata
    Keputusan pekerjaan dan kenaikan pangkat dibuat berdasarkan merit tanpa diskriminasi.
  5. Pencegahan Gangguan Seksual
    Kami mencegah dan menangani gangguan seksual selaras dengan Kod Amalan kebangsaan.
  6. Pemerkasaan Wanita
    Pemerkasaan Wanita.
  7. Hak Reproduktif
    Kami menghormati hak pekerja wanita termasuk kesihatan reproduktif, kesihatan ibu dan keselamatan wanita.
  8. Tiada Diskriminasi
    Kami melarang diskriminasi berdasarkan etnik, kasta, kewarganegaraan, agama, kecacatan, jantina, orientasi seksual, identiti jantina, keahlian kesatuan, fahaman politik, umur atau ciri lain.

    Kami menghormati hak pekerja untuk menubuhkan dan menyertai persatuan serta rundingan kolektif.
  10. Pengambilan Bertanggungjawab
    Kami menjalankan pengambilan pekerja secara adil dan mematuhi undang-undang.

    Semua pekerja menerima layanan adil dari segi gaji, faedah dan kemudahan.
  12. Keselamatan & Kesihatan Pekerjaan (OSH)
    Kami komited menyediakan persekitaran kerja selamat melalui:
    1. Pematuhan OSHA 1994.
    2. Mengadakan pengenalpastian hazard, penilaian risiko dan pengawalan risiko berdasarkan garis panduan untuk HIRARC 2008.
    3. Menubuhkan, menjalankan, dan pengawasan pelan OSH.
    4. Menyediakan latihan kepada pekerja dan mewujudkan kesedaran di kalangan pekerja bahawa keselamatan dan kesihatan mereka juga merupakan tanggungjawab masing-masing.
    5. Kami komited untuk mengelakkan masalah kesihatan, penyakit dan kecederaan berkenaan pekerjaan. Mekanisme untuk membuat laporan berkenaan masalah kesihatan dan keselamatan pekerjaan termasuk kemalangan, masalah kesihatan, penyakit, kecederaan dan kecemasan.
    6. Menyediakan PPE yang bersesuaian selaras CHRA dan HIRARC.
    7. Memastikan pembekal dan kontraktors di dalam premis sentiasa mematuhi prosedur keselamatan dan Kesihatan Syarikat.
  13. Latihan & Kesedaran
    Kami menyediakan latihan kepada pekerja dan pihak berkepentingan mengenai kemampanan.
  14. Mekanisme Aduan
    Kami menyediakan sistem aduan yang telus dan adil:
    1. Semua aduan ditangani secara adil selaras dengan prosedur Syarikat.
    2. Maklumbalas diberikan dalam jangka masa yang wajar.
    3. Keputusan dimaklumkan kepada pihak yang berkenaan.
  15. Perlindungan Pemberi Maklumat
    Kerahsiaan pemberi maklumat dilindungi sepenuhnya.

Dasar Tadbir Urus

Lam Soon Plantations komited kepada tadbir urus yang kukuh, amalan beretika dan pelaporan yang telus selaras dengan TCFD, IFRS S1/S2, GRI 2 dan keperluan pensijilan RSPO.

  1. Ketelusan Maklumat
    Kami memastikan ketelusan dokumen berkaitan RSPO dan MSPO.
  2. Etika Perniagaan
    Kami komited terhadap Kelakuan Beretika dalam Perniagaan dan menghormati kelakuan adil dalam perniagaan seta melarang sebarang jenis rasuah, dan penyalahgunaan sumber kewangan di antara sekutu perniagaan, pembekal dan kontraktor.
  3. Kerahsiaan
    Kami melindungi maklumat syarikat dan pihak berkepentingan.
  4. Operasi Cekap
    Kami memastikan operasi cekap dan mematuhi undang-undang.
  5. Penambahbaikan Berterusan
    Kami memantau pelan tindakan untuk penambahbaikan berterusan.
